Don't Just "Forget"

via
I'm just going to say it, I'm not the type of person who's always happy through everything, even when people are mean to me and everything. I'm the type of person who bursts out crying and sinks to the floor, rocking back and forth, hoping that, somehow, I can get out of this pain. That if I can just forget it, all my problems will be solved. Then I don't have to think about it, and everything will seem normal, so, in a way, it will be normal.

That's the biggest lie. Like ever.

Even if you just "forget" about the pain, it's still there. You'll think you're alright, you'll go through the motions of life, you'll feel happy, think you feel joy, and you do, but then something happens; and suddenly, suddenly, it's all there, pouring down on you like a pounding rain. And you don't even understand it, but it's all there: all those feelings, all those fears, everything that you tried to push back, and for a moment, you're crying almost about nothing, but crying about everything.

I know this, because I've gone through it. My first reaction to something that hurts, something that I just want to ignore, is to try and just through it fast; just forgive them or whatever it is, just get on with it, just so that I can forget that pain, that hurt, that sadness, that longing. I just want to forget it, I just want it to go away. But then whenever it comes back up again, I turn into a crying wreck that doesn't even make any sense to me.

That's when that moment comes. When I realize what it really all boils down to. It's so hard to believe that one little thing, one thing that means so much to me, can make me feel so insecure about so other things, and makes me so sensitive to any correction or anything.

I finally got it all out. The thing that I didn't even realize was bothering me. I finally got words to it. I finally got it out of me. I finally realized what it was that made me so sensitive to certain things that most people would just say "OK, sure" or just wave it off; I finally found out why all of these things bothered me. It just hit me, and I could finally get it out.

I just want to say that if you do that, like me, if you just want to get things over with and forget, don't. I know it's painful, I know you just want to get over it, but you'll save yourself so much more pain and hurt and sorrow and can possibly save future relationships. Be open about your feelings, even if they might not be the best. Tell your friends and family what you're feeling and why you're feeling it, and try to work through it with them. And remember that God is always there for you, whatever happens. He's never going to leave you or forsake you. He loves you.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” ~Deuteronomy 31:6

Narnia + Music

I haven't watched The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian in more then a year. I only watched it once--and that was on YouTube. (you can imagine how hard it was anyway, what with all of the dark scenes and not always having it in the best quality... not to mention that I missed parts of it. Like them leaving...?!) So you can imagine how excited I was when I went to the library and saw that they had Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawntreader!!

Me: *jumps up and down and starts squealing*

Of course I immediately grabbed both. Last night I got to watch Prince Caspian, and I'm planning on watching the Voyage of the Dawntreader today. *feeling excited*

Oh my gosh, though. Peter was being such a big jerk!!! Sorry if you love Peter, but I wanted to punch his nose off! UGH. I can't even think about it. I'm going to get too mad. =P lol One of my favorite parts was when Edmund put his dislocated arm back in. haha oh wow, that was so funny. :D (sorry if I sound horrible... he was just being such a big jerk and all)

It was kind of funny, because I was watching it with my parents, and my mom, who studied some French when she was in high school, was like, "Man, Caspian sounds French." I kind of gave her a look like, "He's from like this other country. He's not French." Though thinking of him as French kind of made him sound more French and... yeah... (by the way, has anybody else noticed that really awkward moment when they've just met Caspian and Edmund and Susan come over the rise?? That was just... wow... awkward... Susan, I feel your pain...)

Susan... I've always told myself not to like her because in the end, I know she stopped believing about Narnia and thus doesn't get to come with the others back. That has always just made me so sad. But in Prince Caspian, it made me realize, especially in that one scene where Lucy and Susan are talking while the others are asleep, just how much like a real person she seems. As for her kissing Caspian... *cough cough puke puke*

Which gets us to Edmund. Oh my word. He's so nice. Come on. Admit it. Since he's learned not to be a jerk after his confrontation with the White Witch, he's just been cool. Like the kind of big brother awesome cool dude that you want. (he actually reminds me of a kid I know. Kind of. Like just how he looks and sometimes moves. It's weird. =P) He got a lot of my favorite lines in the second film, too. And when he's the only one who believes Lucy that she saw Aslan? *sob sob sniff sniff* I think I'm going to cry. That was just epic. High five, Ed.

And finally. Lucy. My favorite character ever. I've always loved Lucy. Her relationship with Aslan sometimes reminds me of me and God. I always just want to run into God's arms, just like Lucy always runs to Aslan. I love that. That's so great. She always hopes. She's so loyal. So kind. So scared, and yet so brave. She reminds me of myself in so many ways. Lucy is so amazing. <3 I will always love her character. <3 And I think Georgie Henley does an amazing job portraying her in the movies. <3

Yeah, well, sorry about my rather long talk about Narnia and everything. :) I just love it so much; it's such an amazing world. I love the books and the movies, which is pretty rare in today's world, if you ask me. Who's your favorite character? What's your favorite of the three movies and your least favorite? Who's your favorite Pevensie kid? Who's your favorite actor? Which actor do you think does the best job? My favorite movie, by the way, is the first, then the third, and then the second. ;)

And now onto my next announcement.

Well, I don't know if you get these, but do any of you guys get those frosted mini wheats with the Monsters University advertisements on the back? Well, my mom and I decided to get some music downloads, so guess what? I got to pick! As you can imagine, I was very much excited about this... (I mean, come on... music+from my favorite Disney movies=awesome writing music) And so what did I pick?

The first one is like my favorite listening-and-writing-song... EVAH. It's the main theme of The Pirates of the Caribbean. (actually, it was a form of it, we couldn't find the official theme) I've been wanting to get this song for like forever, and now we finally have! I was so excited. This song is just so... so... so epic and amazing! If you haven't heard it, just type up Pirates of the Caribbean Main Theme on YouTube. Then you will know this awesomeness. <3

And what was the other one?

Well, there's this one song off the Narnia Soundtrack called "Only the Beginning of the Adventure." (don't know that one? Don't sweat. Just look it up on YouTube. If you've watched Narnia, I'm almost positive that you'll recognize it.) It's soooooo pretty and beautiful. I love it so much. <3 I love both of them so much. =D

I'm listening to them right now on replay. Oh, the joys of music...

Well, I'll talk to you later. God bless.

Take a Hike!

No, I didn't get mad at somebody and yelled, "TAKE A HIKE!" No, nobody got mad and said that to me. Actually, I went and took a hike... (read previous post. This hike was my adventure.)

We started out in a cute little park area. The lighting was just beautiful on the green trees. Of course when I saw that Mom had brought the camera I took it and got a few pics... though they can hardly show just how beautiful it was when I saw it. #wishingeyescouldtakepictures

As you can see, there was an awesome bridge with a little waterfall. AWESOME. We had some fun taking pics on this bridge. (well, I was the one taking the pictures. They were the ones posing. =P) I love the sounds of a waterfall...

Ah, yes. The Stone Bridge. Actually, I have no idea what the name of it is. I just decided to name it that like, um, right now. Mostly because it was an awesome huge stone bridge that I had lots of fun taking pictures of. (yes, I did spare you several more pictures of this. See, you should be happy! :)) For some reason it reminds me of like Narnia or something. Strange...

The steps up the hill. Thankfully not as much a muscle killer as I thought. #finallyagoodthingaboutrunning Dad was a real trooper. Even though he has cancer, he was just moving along...

I turned backwards and took a picture of the steps. What? =P

Picture of the kind of view from the top of the trail. Soon comes the part we have to go down the hill...

A rock. How lovely. Well, come on. We had some pictures on top of it. So of course I was going to take a picture of just itself. :)

This is all part of a huge rock outcropping with that was hollow inside. The above two pictures are inside, and the first one in this series of pictures shows the way in... The other ones are of the outside of the rock. Now that was fun to climb into. The rock inside was all smooth, and I was told that was because of all the people who'd been in there. This is me--"You mean that it's smooth because of hand grime?!" Yeah, great job, Anna...

And, finally, the wooden stairs that led us to the bottom of the trail again. Ah. What a very nice mental hike following my one yesterday. lol =D

Well, I hope you enjoyed following--err, going in front of me??--on my hike from yesterday. Do you like hiking? What's your favorite part? Do you like more challenging trails or do you like the easy ones? Do you like taking trails in the country or trails in the city, say, like, at a park or something?

Ta ta for now...

And two from Bekah Joan:

1. What is your favorite type of story? (fantasy, mystery, etc.) Either action-adventure or fantasy. Both put together is best.

2. What is your favorite season? If it's summer, fall. If it's fall, summer. If it's winter, summer. If it's spring, summer. So summer I guess (except for right now. :p)

3. What is/was your favorite subject in school? English. Or Art, if you can count that. ;) I love art so, so much. It adds beauty to the world in so many different forms.

4. What do you want to be when you grow up/or already are? A Christian and a writer. I might be starving and on the streets, but if I have my God and my characters, I'll be happy.

5. If you could have a pet--any kind, even magical, mythical, not real...--what would you have? A dragon. Absolutely a dragon. Or a unicorn. But probably a dragon, because they can flyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

6. What do you think I look like? (hair color, eye color, etc.) Hmm. I've always imagined you as a lovely girl with light brownish hair and green eyes. You're a bit on the shorter side, with a few freckles sprayed across your cheeks and nose. It’s almost like an artist found the perfect shade of paint for those freckles, dipped his brush in the paint, and then flicked right at you. You always tilt your head back when you laugh. I dunno. :p

7. What is your favorite eye/hair combination? Ginger with brown eyes. Ohhhhh my goodness, yes. (I seriously want to marry a redhead just so I can have kids with red hair. I am that obsessed.)

8. What's your favorite type of blog? (a story blog, random blog, etc.) Hmm. Story blogs are nice because I love to read, but I don't always have enough time to go through everything there. Food blogs are great because, well, FOOD! But if I follow too many of those I'll get fat. :p Blogs about the lovely things in life are probably my favorite, especially when there are lots of pictures.

9. What is your favorite color? Blue. I decided that one day as I was strolling out of Wal-Mart with my mom. It was in the evening. I glanced up at the sky and then did a double-take. It was perfect. Near the horizon, it started out as a light blue. As my eyes followed the sky upward, the blue deepened until it was almost black at the top. The few stars shining throughout the sky gave it a dazzling effect. So I fell in love with blue.

10. What are some of your favorite foods? Hmm. Milk, even though I'm lactose intolerant. :p I love most fruit, a few veggies, along with corn, mashed potatoes, caramel popcorn, spaghetti, and macaroni and cheese.

11. What's your favorite thing about blogging? The people I meet online. I think it's so cool how we can be connected with each other. We can follow along with other people's lives, even though we've never met them. It's fascinating.

12. If you could change your name, what would you change it to? Oh. Well. That’s a terribly hard decision to make. Names are so cool. I suppose, though, I’d go with either Xenia or Amber. Probably Xenia.

13. If you could live anywhere in the world--or magical worlds--where would you live? In the world: I think Europe would be nice. London, England, probably. Magical worlds: probably the one in my head and in numerous Microsoft Word documents of mine. It’s called Abif, and it’s awesome.

14. What is your favorite blog? Hmm. Well, yours is pretty awesome. :p I really like Hannah Nicole’s blog. (http://blog.imhannahnicole.com/)

Or you can take this one (and if you've taken the one above, you can take this one, too):

1. First off, please introduce yourself. I’m Bekah Joan. :)

2. And what blogs do you have? Found and Cherished (http://foundandcherished.blogspot.com/)

3. Awesome! What are your blogs about? Found and Cherished is about my adventures, however big or small, throughout life. I talk about my struggles through my faith, I’ll occasionally have the guts to post some of my writing, and I absolutely love posting pictures I’ve taken.

4. Sweet. How did you get introduced to blogging? A friend, Miss Josie. (http://inthetreesandshade.tumblr.com/)

5. Please tell us a little bit about yourself. I’m a sixteen-year-old girl who loves writing, photography, and art in general. But above all that, I am a subject of King Jesus and will serve Him willingly with all my heart.

6. What are some things about yourself that we probably don't know? Hmmm...I don’t like cats. I have two sisters, but no brothers. I’m the middle child. I danced when I was younger. Now? I can barely get my arabesque above 90 degrees. (For those of you who don’t know, that’s not good.)

7. What do you think of yourself as? (example: I consider myself artistic) Well, not to brag, but I *do* consider myself artistic. I may not be able to express my ideas very well, but in my head there are some beautiful things.

8. What's your religion view? I’m Christian, and I love it!

9. Why do you believe that? What are your thoughts on that? It’s the only thing that makes sense. There’s so much evidence and proof it’s overwhelming. God has worked in my life in so many ways it’s impossible for me to deny Him and be in the right.

10. What would you say the goal of your blogging journey is? (example: recording your life, making people smile, etc.) Along with recording my life, I also look at it as a way to make new friends and minister to people who aren’t Christians.

11. How do you deal with the fact that you can design your blog? (example: I design my own, I use free designs, etc.) I use the free ones.

12. Do you think that you will continue to blog the rest of your life? I have no idea. Probably. It’s fun.

13. What are you looking for when you visit a new blog? (example: that the author is a Christian, etc.) First and foremost: proper grammar. I know that’s crazy, but it’s very hard for me to get through. I will follow blogs with bad grammar, but not too often. I also love unique perspectives on different arts like photography, writing, dancing, etc.

14. Do you think of yourself when you think of your person on blogger, or do you kind of think of that new name (etc.) that you use on blogger as kind of different? It’s a bit different, but not too much. I definitely don’t say as much to most people as I do on my blog, that’s for sure.

15. And again, what's your name? ;) Thanks for taking this interview! :) Bekah Joan. <3

Thanks so much for doing this, Storyteller! I had a lot of fun doing this. :)

And then, finally, one from Connie:

1. What is your favorite type of story? (fantasy, mystery, etc.)

THE QUESTIONS

1. What made you decide to start blogging?

Well, uh, I'd heard that a friend of mine had a blog--we weren't the closest, but she was really nice--and I wanted to get one to put my stories on. As you can tell, it's progressed a lot beyond just stories. =P

2. What is your fashion style?

Horrible. haha :D I am not like a total fashion diva or anything like that, and hate shopping. There are, though, some things I like. I would say that my style is simple and bright... kind of.

3. What is something none of your followers know about you?

Let's see... I tell them a lot... something they don't know... no, that ruins a post idea... hmm... let's see... um.... hmm.... no, you guys already know that (I think)... I did ballet for about a year/year and a half with some friends who were teaching it, because I'd always wanted to be a ballerina. (don't blame me... blame those Barbie movies =P) That was when I was pretty young, though... like seven or something... and we never continued it...

4. What are some of your blogging goals?

Hmm... I... um... hmm... well, I suppose it's always kind of been a goal of mine to get like 1000 followers one day or something haha :D
5. Where is your favorite place to shop?

THRIFT STORES. Oh yeah, baby...

6. What would your ideal amount of blog followers be?

Well, what I think would look cool is like five hundred followers and such, but of course I love meeting everybody new who comes to my neck of the woods. :)

7. What are your talents?

Well, what I consider my talents (my family might beg to differ...) are writing, designing, artistic-things-in-general, and typing really fast. ;D
8. Are you a leader or a follower?

I am a total follower. Unless I'm with my friends. Then I lead them around. Until there's something that needs lots of confidence. Then I drag my friends forward with me. lol

9. What is one of your favorite quotes?

I actually just found this this morning in an Economics book, but I liked it...

"We are perishing for want of wonder, not for want of wonders." ~G.K. Chesterton

(don't know who that guy is, but he's smart)
10. Do you have a favorite book or book series?

Well, I don't have an exact fave, but I really like the 39 Clues series and the Codebearers series. (ya know... Hunter brown??) And some other books like War Horse and stuff. ;)
11. Out of all of the synonyms for elegant, which would you describe yourself with (smart - stylish - dressy - graceful - dainty - fine)?

Smart.
12. What is your favorite flower?

I'm not a favorite flower kind of person, but I think that Prairie Roses and azaleas are really pretty. :)
