AS--The Mysterious Blue Glow

We journeyed through the day. The surroundings were familiar--the same surroundings that I'd known all my life. The forest hadn't changed just because two strangers had invaded my home and offered for me to go on their quest with them. Though, in a way, it seemed like it had. We traveled for days on end. In the daytime, we barely talked. At night, Damien disappeared off into the forest, and Brumby and I studied his many charts and maps that he had to try and find out exactly where we were. The days passed by much in this fashion. It was like Damien and I had a sort of agreement--neither of us talked to the other, and we each lived our own lives even though we were stuck on a quest together.

"What's this mean?" I asked Brumby one night, pointing to one of the signs on the map.

"What's what mean?" he questioned, looking at the map in vain. I could see it in his eyes--he couldn't see it.

"This blue symbol," I pointed out. "See? It's hovering right over this country." I put my finger right on the mark, hoping that he would see it.

"I'm afraid I don't see anything," Brumby whispered. He glanced up at me. "But is it possible...? No, surely it couldn't be... only the pr--" He cut himself off. Warily, he glanced back over at me. "Arawyn..."

"I don't understand," I whispered. "I know it's there." I looked back over at it. A faint glow. It hadn't faded off.

"Maybe Damien can see it," smiled Brumby hopefully. Turning towards the forest, he yelled, "Damien, get back here! I need to see if you can see something! Damien, where are you?! Damien, I'm talking to you! Yes, YOU! Damien!!!!!!"

My Life............... yep. ;D

Dear Readers,

(No, this isn't Wyn.)

(No, this is Arawyn.)

(Yes, it's finally Storyteller!!) =D

Anyway, so you might be wondering why I've been so busy and everything.

(I mean, I usually post every day and I haven't posted yesterday and basically haven't posted today.)

The reason is:

Life.

The biggest excuse of all.

Anyway, so what exactly have I been doing?

Yesterday I was babysitting all day. But it was older kids, so that was pretty easy. And then we watched The Princess Bride and the girl and I were just realizing how useless Buttercup was. ("Hit the ROUS with the stick!!! NOW!!!! Oh, no, what are you doing?! Don't cry for help!! Wesley can't save you!! For goodness sake, HIS ARM IS BEING CHEWED OFF!!!!!" or "Quick! He let go of your arm! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!")

And then today I was off at a cross country meet, meeting up with one of my bestest of friends and getting a horrible sun burn.

So, yeah.

What have you been doing? ;D

Lochinvar

This is Wyn, and I just had a horrible thought--what if you guys have had no idea why you would've heard of Lochinvar and Sir Walter Scott? (yeah, yeah, my "friend". Huh. He stinks now.) Anyway, I thought I might want to tell you the poem.

Lochinvar

O young Lochinvar is come out of the west,
Through all the wide Border his steed was the best;
And save his good broadsword he weapons had none,
He rode all unarm'd, and he rode all alone.
So faithful in love, and so dauntless in war,
There never was knight like the young Lochinvar.
He staid not for brake, and he stopp'd not for stone,
He swam the Eske river where ford there was none;
But ere he alighted at Netherby gate,
The bride had consented, the gallant came late:
For a laggard in love, and a dastard in war,
Was to wed the fair Ellen of brave Lochinvar.

So boldly he enter'd the Netherby Hall,
Among bride's-men, and kinsmen, and brothers and all:
Then spoke the bride's father, his hand on his sword,
(For the poor craven bridegroom said never a word,)
"O come ye in peace here, or come ye in war,
Or to dance at our bridal, young Lord Lochinvar?"

"I long woo'd your daughter, my suit you denied; --
Love swells like the Solway, but ebbs like its tide --
And now I am come, with this lost love of mine,
To lead but one measure, drink one cup of wine.
There are maidens in Scotland more lovely by far,
That would gladly be bride to the young Lochinvar."

The bride kiss'd the goblet: the knight took it up,
He quaff'd off the wine, and he threw down the cup.
She look'd down to blush, and she look'd up to sigh,
With a smile on her lips and a tear in her eye.
He took her soft hand, ere her mother could bar, --
"Now tread we a measure!" said young Lochinvar.

So stately his form, and so lovely her face,
That never a hall such a gailiard did grace;
While her mother did fret, and her father did fume
And the bridegroom stood dangling his bonnet and plume;
And the bride-maidens whisper'd, "'twere better by far
To have match'd our fair cousin with young Lochinvar."

One touch to her hand, and one word in her ear,
When they reach'd the hall-door, and the charger stood near;
So light to the croupe the fair lady he swung,
So light to the saddle before her he sprung!
"She is won! we are gone, over bank, bush, and scaur;
They'll have fleet steeds that follow," quoth young Lochinvar.

There was mounting 'mong Graemes of the Netherby clan;
Forsters, Fenwicks, and Musgraves, they rode and they ran:
There was racing and chasing on Cannobie Lee,
But the lost bride of Netherby ne'er did they see.
So daring in love, and so dauntless in war,
Have ye e'er heard of gallant like young Lochinvar?
Sir Walter Scott
And now you know the lie that Walt went and told like the entire world.

He's pretty convincing, isn't he?

I'll get back about my story later.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot--Storyteller wanted me to go and tell you guys that if you don't want the Girl's Edition for the Dragonmaster header, you'd better hurry up and vote on that because it's winning right now!! =D

If you insist... ;D

I'd seen that some of you had read my "Heidi" story.

(Aka The Keeper Series.)

Anyway, I'd seen that some of you guys had read it.

YAY!

Anyway, so you all know what's still winning.

Right?

You do know, right?

Ok...........

Before I begin today, I have a few things we have to cover. :)

1. Thanks for all of the votes for the Dragonmaster header!!! :) The voting will continue right up to when the poll closes. At that time I'll put the winning header up on my blog Dragonmaster. However, if you do not vote on the poll itself, I'm sorry to say that YOUR POLL IS INVALID. I feel horrible saying it, but there's the truth. :P

2. Thank you so much for my 51 followers!!!!!! Awhile ago that seemed so far away. :) And now it's a reality!!! Thanks so much!!!!!! =D

3. OK, WAS going to do a book review today, but I changed my mind. Why? Because the book I was reading was kind of scary. OK, you'll probably think I'm silly when I tell you that it was a Dear America book. But reading about the Salem Witch Trials can get kinda scary. I Walk in Dread--The Diary of Deliverance Trembley is the first Dear America book that I have EVER questioned to whether or not I was going to have bad dreams after reading it. :P

OK, now on with the show!!! :)

I had been here before. But then, I was a young girl. I had yet to fear of losing everything that I had known. I had not even thought of the possibility of my life falling down--crashing down around me in pieces that shattered my heart.
      Then everything was perfect.
And that's when the Sky Pirates came.
Flying through the air in their Sky Ships, they came and plundered my village. They stole the children, killed the adults, and... missed me. I had been out in the forest, all by  myself. And when I'd come back? Everyone was gone. As I'd stared up at the sky, I'd only caught the last glimpse of the ship before it disappeared on the horizon.
Weak with grief and propelled by rage, I flew through the forest, barely able to see because of my tears. I finally collapsed from exhaustion, and when I woke up, I was totally lost. And so I lived in the forest ever since.

Even as I lay awake by the fire, the sounds of Brumby and Damien sleeping coming to my ears, I relived the whole time. I wondered why on earth the Sky Pirates had to come on that night. As I glanced over at my sleeping companions, answers failed to come to me.

I'm all alone, the thought came to me. You were alone the second those pirates came and destroyed your world.

What would have happened if I'd been taken by the pirates?

I can only wonder.

No, this is not a contest. PLEASE READ THOUGH.

I'm sorry to inform you that if you're looking at this from your dashboard and you're seeing the Aslan picture...... no, this post is NOT about Narnia.

Sorry.

(Yes, I love Narnia, too.) =D

OK, so, as our title up there says^, this isn't a contest. However, you know what this is?

Sort of a poll. Sort of.

Anyway, so since I have NO idea how long PicMonkey crown stuff is going to be open, I've been designing all day.

Just because all of the new options are awesome, of course.

And of course now I'm like "what should I do with my header?!"

No, no, don't worry. =D I'm not talking about that^ header. (Storyteller of Weston County header) I'm talking about my Dragonmaster header.

Yup.

So I made some fun versions that I would really probably never use normally.

And I'm going to put my life in your hands.

Just kidding.

Actually, I'm going to let you guys vote which ones you like best!!!!! :)

Ready for the choices?

Ready?

OK. :)

This, my lovely friends, is the Hollywood Edition.

Pretty sweet, huh?

Huh? Huh?

OK. :)

(By the way, I actually don't own glasses like that^)

School edition. Oops. Well, "addition". Anyways...... ;P

English Edition.

(Man, I'm just changing the spelling all over the place.)

(Anyway know what's right? ;D)

And finally A Girl's Edition. :)

So.... which is your favorite??????

I do really need help on this.

I'm serious.

I have come upon the amazing truth......

I just found out that.........

.......on PicMonkey the ones with the crowns are free to use!!!!!

At least, for now.

If you're wondering where on earth I'm getting this information, click here. It will take you to the article right on the PicMonkey site.

Sweet, or what????

So guess what I've been doing?????

Yup.

Being on PicMonkey.

Here are some of my results!!!! :)

hahahaha =D
Yup.

So how do you guys like it???????

Sorry if this was incredibly boring. :P

And, hey, if you guys want me to design something, I just LOVE to do it!!!! (seriously) I just like to do it for fun. So if you want me to design something for you, it's a favor for ME. :)

Thanks!!!!! Bye!!!!! =D

Keller Girls

Note to ~The Keller Girls~--your button choices are done. :)

But is it the worthy endeavor?

"I've got to get away,"
You whispered that day,
"I'll never go there,"
You say without a care,
"I'm leaving forever,"
But is it a worthy endeavor?
"I'll never return,"
But is your freedom earned?
You've got to run,
You know you have to,
You have keep running,
You know you do.
If you look back,
They'll take you now,
But to them,
You'll never bow.
So now you run,
Never looking over your shoulder,
Always looking ahead,
Jumping over the boulder,
You don't want to go back,
Don't want to face the hurt,
Don't want to be lorded over,
To be the victim of assert.
You want to run your own life,
Don't want to be on a tether,
Don't want to be beaten,
Like old rawhide leather,
You want to run on,
Forever and forever,
But is that the worthy endeavor?
