headphones: the goods and bads

good things about listening to music on headphones:
i. it makes swiffering the floor feel like dancing.
ii. it makes everything you do with them go faster. (basically...)
iii. it’s like portable music. oh yeah.

bad things about listening to music on headphones:
i. you start singing the lyrics and suddenly you think, “wait a sec, the other people can’t hear the music with me, which means they hear me...” followed very quickly by, “am i singing off-key...?” followed by, “let’s just mouth the lyrics...”
ii. they always fall out. well, mostly. kind of. sometimes. anyway... ;)
iii. sometimes they kind of hurt your ears... well, my ears.

thoughts? :)

  1. I find headphones good because it makes the music sound so much better. Like you can hear every individual note by each instrument. Some headphone are uncomfortable but you can get ones shaped to your ear. They are good. You can also get covers.

  2. So true about this. Especially singing off-key! Well, if you're with your friends and all of you are singing the song aloud... it's fine. :)

  4. I use headphone/ear buds all the time... (My classes are recorded on a DVD and sent to me. I have to watch them with headphones so the entire house wouldn't be too noisy) I might have gotten used to them as sometimes, I stick 'em in my ears when there is absolutely no need for them...

But, they are necessary. They may fall out and/or hurt your ears, but still, I don't think I could survive without them. :P

    Keeping posting!

  5. Goods: I love listening to music with my earbuds whenever I draw. Mostly, I listen to soundtrack music. Really helps to inspire and motivate.
Bads: They tend to block out the rest of the world and one can miss things. For example - the phone ringing, or someone trying to get your attention, not knowing that you have your earbuds in. I try to alert people when I'm listening to music, and they usually know that when I'm drawing, I probably have my ipod with me.

What kind of music do you listen to?

    1. I love listening to soundtrack music!! :) I like listening to it while I design and write. ;)

      That's a good idea. :)

I like listening to Christian music and like soundtrack music. :) What about you? :)

    2. Same here! I love my Christian artists (especially Britt Nicole). But I have been looking for more music...any suggestions?

So did you take classes on blog designing? I think it sounds like a good idea. I'd like to know what I'm doing with CSS codes and such, instead of bothering all these girls with my questions ;)

    3. I know a whole bunch of soundtracks, if that's what you're interested in! :) (if so, just let me know, and I'll give you a whole bunch of links) I've really enjoyed the Piano Guys, I don't know if you've heard of them, but if you haven't, I'd really recommend them! :)

Actually, no, I just look stuff up and ask questions. :)

  6. Exactly, I completely agree! While I love my headphones, they can be very annoying too. :P You should do more "goods and bads." :)

  8. There is this certain nob on your sink cupboards, and my had phone's cord ALWAYS (no exaggeration) gets caught on it when I walk by, and my headphones are violently YANKED out of my ears, causing them to hurt. But other than that, and your three reasons, I love headphones! "Lotta love is commin' through your headphones. Loooove is comin' through your headphones!" --Britt Nicole's song. :-). Have a wonderful day, Anna!

  12. Hey there Anna!

I agree with you on all of these! xD for the problem with them falling out of your ears; I had the same problem for years- then I bought some by a brand called Skullcandy- they come with multiple size of the rubber things.. They stay in my ears wonderfully! I just bought some that were aroud $10, you should definitely check them out! :) Hope I helped!

  13. Yessss! They most certainly DO hurt your ears! Actually, I think it depends on what kind you wear. Like, the ones I have have these little design things on the part that goes in your ear, so it makes it very uncomfortable. At least when you wear them for a long time, anyway.

  14. This is SOOOOOO true! You took the words right out of my mouth when you said when we start singing the lyrics and then you realize that nobody can hear the music. Oh, I sound awful:)

P.S. I checked out your design blog. It looks amazing!!! I looked at your portfolio, and I was like, "Wow, she is so talented!" Could you tell me what you use for the blogs you design? I'm just a beginner and would love to know how you did such an excellent job! :) if it's like a super secret then you don't have to tell me. :)

  17. Everybody's ears are different, so achieving a perfect fit can be a tricky exercise for headphone makers. Though, most in-ear headphones come with a selection of differently sized and shaped eartips.
