A post in which I explain some about what happened...

[you know who you are...]

So, today, I got my knee checked out by some specialist people who were super nice. (we got one of those review forms and I circled all of the "excellent" ones haha =D) I also survived an MRI (OK, you might not think this sounds so big, but when you're claustrophobic like I am, I was totally freaked out) which went good, mostly because it was an open one (i.e. they had an awesome machine that meant that I didn't have to put myself in this big tube, just put my legs underneath this machine). Everything went really well, though I found myself feeling starving by like the middle of it. (like seriously. I was half asleep and my stomach was rumbling like crazy.) Thanks to having hurt my hip previously last year (twice, actually =P), I'm pretty good at crutches, which I suppose is good since I was crutching around all day.

If you've never had an MRI, never known one who has, or heard of it, I'll tell you a little about it. Pretty much, you get to lay on this table thing with cushions, pillows, and blankets while your leg (if it's your leg that got hurt, or my knee in this case) underneath this machine (I got wheeled underneath it). Then there's all of these whirring and beeping sounds (one time it sounded like machine gun fire/a sewing machine....) and lots of other strange sounds, which go on for about 40 to 45 minutes. (the duration of the MRI) And then they just let you get out. Pretty nice, right? Oh, yeah, today I got an X-ray, too... that was way easy, thank goodness.

Anyway, you might be wondering what cherries has to do with MRIs and X-rays and hurt knees. Well, it doesn't have anything to do it. (despite the fact that the patient [me] would rather love to have some...) It more reflects my thoughts of spring and summer. I've decided that I want to work/volunteer down at our local library, so as soon as my knee's healed, we're going to check into getting that worked out. I love libraries so much, and I love all of the librarians done there, too. I'm really excited about the thought of getting to work with them. :) And who knows? Maybe I'll get special choices on books and stuff. haha probably not =D

Anyway, please keep on praying. We still don't know if I'm going to be needing surgery or not. Thanks so much for all of you talking to me about this. It means a lot to me. <3 I'll catch ya'll later....

  1. My sister had to have an MRI just a couple weeks ago for a badly sprained ankle. I think it's creepy that you have to go in that weird tunnel thing. I will be praying for you!
