The Love of God

Hey everybody! :) This is Sarah from over at My Randomness and Ramblings! I'm guest posting for Storyteller today! First off I want to thank Storyteller for letting me guest post for her! :D It's an honor!!
This is a topic I've been thinking about a lot lately, so obviously it made sense for me to write about it when Storyteller was looking for guest posters.

The love of God is great and powerful. So great in fact, that I think a lot of people, or at least I, cannot fully comprehend it.

"Loved" by JJ Heller

"What Love Really Means" by JJ Heller

"Though our feelings come and go, God's love for us does not." - C.S. Lewis

“Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely. ... He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken.”
- Dieter F. Uchtdorf

1st Corinthians 13

I don't know about you guys, but I play music while I'm in the shower. It depends on my mood as to what I play, but lately I've been in the mood for listening to JJ Heller.
The other night as I was listening to "What Love Really Means", a song that is now 3 years old, the words began to really sink in for the first time:

"I will love you for you, not for what you have done, or what you will become, I will love you for you, 'cause nobody has shown you what love, what love really means"
I began thinking about God's love for me, and I broke down crying. I will never fully understand the depths of His love. But I will always know that He does love me, He does care, and He will always be with me, no matter what.
He loves me even when I feel like nobody loves me at the moment.
This hymn is so beautiful, and I love the words:
"Could we with ink the ocean fill,
  And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
  And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
  Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
  Though stretched from sky to sky."
And last, but definitely not least, the most famous verse in the Bible, John 3:16 talks about God's love for us:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, shall not perish, but have eternal life."

God loves us all so much, that he sent his son, human, to die for us on the cross, so that we could go to live in heaven with him for eternity when we "die" here on earth. That is, if we accept him.
I don't know about you, but I sure could use a friend who loves me no matter what and wants to see me through the hardest times. :)

I think all of that says an awful lot about God's love. :)
Know that there is Someone who loves you today. <3
xx Sarah
