[Sorry, sorry, it's just that I just decided as in right now to do this...]

I'm doing a 1940s/50s chapter contest, hosted by Poem Girl. :)

Chapter [I'm leaving this blank for security reasons]

I nearly screamed as I felt somebody starting to pull off my bonds. I craned my neck and saw that it was... Tom. How could it nod be Tom? I would've said something rather sarcastic, but I was still gagged.

"It's going to be okay, Helen," Tom told me. "I've got the other guys going around the front."

He would mean, of course, his fellow boy scouts who had managed to follow me this far. Though I detested them, I was rather glad that they'd come. Otherwise I'd still be tied up.
Tom leaned around me and pulled off the gag. The first thing I did was spit. The bandana had tasted awful, and it hadn't helped that it was my own enemy's bandana.

"We've got to hurry," I told him, getting up. "There's not much time. If we don't hurry, the President might not last the night." I started toward the door of the train.

"Wait, Helen." Tom caught my arm. "What on earth do you mean?"

"Just do as you're told, boy scout," I answered, trying in vain to open the door. "Would you help me?"

Tom and I managed to pull the door open. We were faced with Jack and Harry, Tom's boy scout friends.

"What's going on, Helen?" Tom queried from behind me. "What's really going on?"

I turned suddenly. "I'm a spy, and I've been helping to track somebody who attempted to take the president's life not a month ago. I almost had him, and then you guys showed up."

They were speechless.
