Wyn--The Kidnapper

Walt rushed forward. "Are you alright?"

I nodded, breathing hard. "Who was that?"

We both knelt before the person, and slowly pulled off their mask.....

"I have no idea who that is," Walt announced. As if I expected him to know who it was.

"Well of course you don't know," I told him.

He looked uneasy. I frowned.

"You don't know him, do you?"

"Of course not," Walt chuckled nervously.

"I need to get back into the castle," I pointed out. "And I need to tell Mother about this person."

"No!" cried Walt. "Don't do that!"

"Why not?" I demanded. "He just try to kidnap me!"

Walt looked down and whispered, "You can't do that because he's my father."

I was stunned, to say the least. I glanced down at the man and realized he DID look a lot like Walt.

"But... but how...?" I wasn't sure what to think. Walt was my friend. Why on earth would his father come and try to kidnap me? Because I was the daughter of somebody who was actually noticed? Because maybe I might be worth something, even though everybody pretty much hated me?

"He's a sailor," Walt explained quickly. "His ship must've sunk or something, and he needed money. He always talked about what he'd do if his ship sank." He looked up at me. "He said that he'd get money some other way, no matter the consequences."

At just that moment everything went black.
